MLS is back for 2026, and the league is bigger than ever! With the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, soccer in North America is hitting new heights of popularity. Whether you’re looking for regular-season seats, a season ticket plan, or a spot at the MLS Cup final, it helps to know exactly where to look and when to buy.

If you are an eligible member of Tickets for Good (healthcare workers, teachers, and non-profit staff), you can also access free (plus booking fees) and discounted MLS tickets throughout the season.

Read our guide below for everything you need to know about finding tickets, understanding prices, and securing your seat for kickoff.

The 2026 MLS season: what’s new?

The 2026 season officially gets underway on February 21. Coming off an epic 2025 where Inter Miami lifted the MLS Cup, the league is ready for another year of high-stakes rivalries and world-class talent. Fans can expect packed stadiums and a high-energy atmosphere as 30 teams compete for the ultimate prize!

30 teams, one goal

MLS has 30 teams in 2026. That gives fans more matches, more rivalries, and more chances to watch live soccer across the country.

San Diego FC is also part of the league, after joining recently.

The format

Each team plays 34 regular-season matches. That means 17 home games and 17 away games.

The regular season starts in February and runs through November 7. After that, the playoffs begin, leading up to MLS Cup.

Accessing MLS tickets via Tickets for Good

That includes MLS soccer tickets. Instead of paying high resale prices, eligible members can find free (plus booking fees) and discounted tickets on the platform.

Where to buy MLS soccer tickets

Securing your seat in 2026 is straightforward if you use official channels. While there are many places to find seats, sticking to verified sellers ensures you are paying fair prices and getting legitimate tickets.

Official club websites

The most reliable place to start is the official website of the team you want to see. Most clubs offer "Single Game" tickets as well as Season Ticket Memberships and "Partial Plans" (packs of 3 or 5 games), which can be more cost-effective if you plan on attending multiple matches!

Ticketmaster (Official MLS Partner)

Ticketmaster is the official ticketing partner for Major League Soccer. This is the primary platform for most club sales and is the safest place to buy verified tickets.

Verified resale platforms

If a match is officially sold out, secondary retailers like StubHub are a common backup. You can often find last-minute tickets here, sometimes starting as low as $15, though prices for high-demand games will be much higher.

Tickets for Good for eligible members

If you are a healthcare worker, teacher, or work for a non-profit, this is your first stop. We partner with teams to offer free (plus booking fees) or heavily discounted tickets as a thank you for your service. Check our platform regularly for new drops throughout the 2026 season.

How much do MLS tickets cost in 2026?

MLS ticket prices vary significantly based on the team, the opponent, and where you sit in the stadium. On average, regular-season tickets start between $25 and $50, but several factors can change this:

  • The "Messi Effect": Games involving Inter Miami continue to drive massive demand. Expect to pay a premium for any match featuring global stars like Lionel Messi.
  • Rivalry Intensity: Marquee matchups like "El Tráfico" (LAFC vs. LA Galaxy) or the Cascadia Cup (Seattle vs. Portland) often see higher prices due to local demand.
  • Seat Location: Pitchside or VIP sections command much higher prices than upper-level seating.
  • Market Demand: If a team is on a winning streak or fighting for a playoff spot in late October, prices will naturally rise.

When do MLS tickets go on sale?

Timing is everything when it comes to getting the best price. Single-game tickets for the regular season typically go on sale in January and February, shortly after the full schedule is released.

Planning for the playoffs

As the regular season winds down in November, ticket demand spikes. Fans looking for playoff or MLS Cup final tickets need to be ready to act fast. These seats are released in batches as the matchups are confirmed. Following official league and club social media accounts is the best way to get "on sale" alerts.

Tips for finding cheaper MLS tickets

If you want to experience the atmosphere of an MLS match without the "big game" price tag, follow these simple tips:

  • Buy early in the season: Matches in February and March are often more affordable than high-stakes games in the autumn.
  • Consider weekday matches: Mid-week games (Wednesdays) typically have lower demand and lower prices than Saturday night fixtures.
  • Look for community programs: Many clubs have local promotions or community ticket initiatives.
  • Check Tickets for Good: Before you pay full price, always check our platform to see if your local team has made community tickets available for key workers.

MLS has a long season, plenty of matches, and lots of chances to watch live soccer in 2026. Whether you want a regular-season game, playoff seats, or MLS Cup tickets, it helps to buy early and check official sellers first.
