Location: Sheffield, UK (Hybrid/Flexible Working)

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 FTE depending on experience

Hours: 15-22.5 hours per week (flexible depending on the right candidate)

Reports to: Financial Controller (Head of Business Intelligence in the interim)

Tickets for Good is on a mission to make live events more accessible by providing free and discounted tickets to our member base of over 400,000 NHS and healthcare workers, charity workers, teachers, volunteers, and those who receive government support (Ticket Bank). We do this with the belief that event attendance provides a range of physical and mental benefits and that participation in cultural events should be open to all.

The Bookkeeper and Financial Administrator will play a key role in maintaining the financial records and day-to-day accounting operations of Tickets for Good. The postholder will ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled and reported, supporting the organisation's continued growth and social impact mission. This role is ideally suited to an experienced bookkeeper who is confident using Sage on a daily basis and can take ownership of maintaining accurate financial records, reconciliations and reporting within a fast growth organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Financial Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for the whole operation.
  • Process purchase invoices, supplier payments, staff expenses and income transactions using Sage Accounting.
  • Raise and reconcile sales invoices where required.
  • Record all income and expenditure transactions in Sage.
  • Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure all transactions are correctly coded and recorded in accordance with company procedures.

Bank and Account Reconciliations

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile payment platforms, merchant accounts and ticketing-related income streams.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Manage supplier accounts and payment schedules.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue payments.

Payroll Support

  • Assist with payroll preparation and monthly payroll data checks.
  • Maintain payroll records and employee financial documentation.
  • Support pension and statutory payment administration.

Financial Administration Tasks

  • Assist with payment run management. 
  • Produce regular financial reports and reconciliations from Sage.
  • Assist with VAT returns and statutory filings.
  • Maintain secure and organised financial records.
  • Support on other various administrative tasks.

What We’re Looking For:

Education & Qualifications:  

  • AAT qualified or studying towards AAT Level 3 or above, or equivalent bookkeeping qualification is desirable but not essential. 
  • Must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C including both Maths and English.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a bookkeeping, finance assistant or accounts role.
  • Practical experience using Sage Accounting (Sage 50/200 desirable).
  • Experience of dealing with multiple currencies and bank accounts.
  • Experience processing invoices, payments, journals and reconciliations within Sage.
  • Experience preparing financial reports from accounting software.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial controls.
  • Ability to reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts and balance sheet accounts using Sage.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately.
